• Timer duration, fade-out curve, and playback control preferences are stored locally on the device so the app can restore your settings.
• Accessibility preferences such as animation speed and contrast mode are stored locally.
• Diminuendo does not require account creation and does not send timer settings, playback data, or listening history to any server.

Purposes of Processing

• To manage the sleep timer countdown and, at expiry, detect the active media player via Notification Listener and send it a standard pause command.
• To remember your timer preferences, fade-out curve, and accessibility settings between sessions.

Third-party services and transfers

• No advertising SDK, analytics SDK (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics), or remote backend is included in the app.
• Diminuendo uses Android Notification Listener access to detect active media players (such as Spotify, VLC, or YouTube Music) and send a standard pause command when the timer expires. It does not read, log, or transmit playback history, track titles, or artist details.

Security measures

• Timer settings and preferences are stored inside the app sandbox and local persistence layers on the device.
• Diminuendo uses POST_NOTIFICATIONS to show the countdown on the lock screen, FOREGROUND_SERVICE to keep the timer running in the background, WAKE_LOCK to prevent premature termination, and Notification Listener access to detect and pause the active media player. It does not request camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or GPS location.
• No method of local storage is absolutely secure; the developer does not maintain server-side copies of timer or preference data.

Retention and deletion

• Local settings remain on the device until you reset them from within the app, uninstall Diminuendo, or clear the app data through the operating system.
• The developer does not keep server-side copies of timer settings or preferences.

Privacy choices and user rights

• You can use Diminuendo without creating any account.
• You can reset all settings at any time through the operating system or by uninstalling the app.
• Diminuendo respects Do Not Disturb and system media controls, so playback and volume adjustments follow your device settings.

If you are located in the European Union, you may exercise GDPR rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability by contacting the developer through the support email on this page. Because Diminuendo keeps settings locally on the device, most rights are exercised directly through device controls and app reset.
