No. HicRenew is designed to work without any user account, registration, login, or cloud backend. All data belongs to you and stays exclusively on your device.

Are my financial records sent to a server?
No. Subscriptions, payment history, renewal dates, budgets, and notes are stored strictly in the encrypted local database. HicRenew has no analytics, no tracking SDKs, and no remote AI servers.
Is there a paid subscription or paywall to use HicRenew?
No. HicRenew is 100% unlocked and free from day one: no subscriptions to track subscriptions, no paywalls, and no ads. If you find the app valuable, you can choose to support independent development through an optional tip jar.
How do cancellation notice period alerts work?
Many contracts (such as mobile carriers, home internet, gym memberships, or insurance policies) renew automatically unless canceled weeks in advance. HicRenew calculates your exact cancellation deadline using DST-safe calendar arithmetic and sends two dedicated local alerts: 7 days before the deadline and on the deadline day itself.
How does free trial monitoring work?
You can enter the trial end date for any service. HicRenew shows a real-time countdown badge on your dashboard and schedules a local reminder 2 days before the trial converts to a paid plan. When the trial ends, a 1-tap dialog lets you either convert it into an active recurring expense or archive it without charges.
How do backups and cloud exports work?
Backups leave your device only when you explicitly start an export. HicRenew creates a password-protected archive encrypted with AES-256-GCM (derived via PBKDF2). You can save it to iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or your device’s local Files. The developer never receives, stores, or accesses a copy of your backup.
Are notifications sent from a server?
No. Renewal reminders, notice deadline alerts, trial expirations, card expiry warnings, and optional weekly digests are scheduled 100% locally by your device’s operating system. They work completely offline and in airplane mode. You can adjust the preferred alert time or disable notifications at any time.
Can I import or export data with spreadsheets or calendars?
Yes. HicRenew supports standard RFC 4180 CSV export for Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, and Google Sheets, as well as an interactive CSV import wizard with dry-run preview. You can also export upcoming renewals as a standard .ics calendar file to sync with Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook.
